Short-pulsed Q-switched fiber laser using graphene oxide quantum dots based as saturable absorber

In this work, we report the experimental study of a Q-switched optical fiber laser based on graphene oxide quantum dots (GOQDs) as saturable absorber (SA). GOQDs are fabricated by carbonization and exfoliation electrospun polyacrylonitrile (PAN) fibers. The results Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) showed bands caused CHs C O groups associated with GOQDs. Raman spectrum typical G D size GOQDs, calculated Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) was 6 nm; additionally, high resolution TEM (HRTEM), an interplanar distance 0.19 nm corresponding to (002) direction calculated. SA achieved using photodeposition technique onto core single-mode fiber. nonlinear characterization (NLC) carried out P-scan high-gain erbium-doped amplifier (EDFA) at wavelength 1550 nm. obtained absorption behavior value β=−1.178x10−6(m/W) non-linear susceptibility Im(χ(3))≈−1.573x10−7(esu). SA, switching device in laser, generating pulsed emission 1599 nm, frequency from 2 16 kHz, maximum average output power 1.3 mW.
